When there is so much darkness in the world, bigotry and racism, hatred and violence, ignorance and polarity, we want to become beacons of light, ambassadors of positive human force. But can we do it without acknowledging and working through our own shadows? If everything outside is indeed a reflection of our inner world, then what do we do with our shadows, our potential evil inside, and how do we come to terms with this complex task?

This evening, in the We have the Choice Circle, we shall try to explore the lines between goodness and evil, shadow, harm and light. Our special guests are Christophe Busch and Asaf Ben-Shahar.Christophe Busch is director of the Hannah Arendt Instituut and author of the book ‘De duivel in elk van ons’. As a criminologist and historian he specializes in research into collective violence: concentration camps, genocide, terrorism. Christophe Busch, Kristin Verellen and Mohammed El Bachiri received in 2017 the prize for Ambassador of Peace from Pax Christi.

Asaf Ben-Shahar lives in Israel and is personally involved with people at both sides of the conflict. As an author, coach and group facilitator, he suppors processes of awareness.
